When I make calls or take photos, the phone freezes up. The screen is frozen and none of the functions work. It seems to have overheated, and I have to wait a few minutes for the phone to function again. Is this a Jellybean issue or a phone issue?
You could try a system cache clear and see if that helps; it often clears up some bugginess after a system update (it shouldn't erase any of your data):
Power down phone
Hold volume up/down & power simultaneously until you see the Boot Mode Selection Menu
Use volume down to navigate to 'Recovery', use volume up to select
Should see screen with triangle and exclamation point next to an Android
Press volume up/down simultaneously to go into system recovery
Use volume rocker to navigate to 'wipe cache' and use power button to select
Once finished, use volume rocker to navigate to 'reboot system now' and use power button to select
THanks! Hope it works, if not, off to buy an iPhone! My friends and family with them don't have these problems.
Verizon, I am having a similar problem immediately after the JB 4.1.2 update...Moto Razr Max HD hangs and auto reboots multiple times a day. Cleared cache twice, that reduced freqency of reboots by approx half. Have run in safe mode for 2 days and only had reboot happen once. Can I de install 4.1.2? Or do I have to factory reset and reinstall apps a few at a time to isolate? Thx Ken
This isn't Customer Service, but a peer-to-peer forum. I'm afraid you can't uninstall 4.1.2 without voiding your warranty (and we can't discuss the method on this forum due to the Terms of Service).
Yes, you may want to back everything up and do a factory reset, then reinstall apps a few at a time ... there may be an app that isn't playing nice with JB. Good luck.
Thanks for the help...I am still getting freeze up and reboots after doing the factory reset and not yet reloading any applications. Does that leave us with a phone hardware issue? Thx ken
