Just the other day I was looking through my photos. I have about 800 on the phone/card whatever. Now I can only see 150 of them. Where did they go, how can I access them?

Sometimes you can Get them Back by Un-mounting and then Re-mounting the SD Card but just do that only DON'T Format it. Especially if all the Pictures are on it) you could have some in internal Storage..

If re-mounting the SD card doesn't work, there's free software that will try to recover photos. I've used one in the past, but it was long ago and I can't remember the name. I'd also highly suggest that you back up your photos to be on the safe side.

If you never changed the setting, the pictures are most likely stored on the internal memory. If so then you may be SOL in recovering them if they are indeed deleted. Try connecting your phone to your PC and see if they show up on one of the two drives that are visible.
For future reference:
I do two things to ensure my photos are safe/recoverable. I have the camera app store them on the external SDcard. I can remove it, mount it on my PC, and use the numerous recovery applications to see if I can recover delete files. This usually works pretty well. Secondly I have all of my photos automatically upload to Dropbox (you can also use Google+, etc. for this function). Or as soon as you take a group of pictures upload them to an online storage service like the new Amazon Cloud Drive Photos.
