RAZR will not turn on, white light

My RAZR was working fine last night. I woke up this morning, LATE, because the alarm on my phone did not go off. I pushed the side button to turn my phone on but nothing. I unplugged the charger and plugged it back in. A solid white indication light comes on and stays on. My phone will not turn on. I know we cannot take the battery out, so I tried the side-button method but still nothing.

Has anyone else experienced this? I do not want to have to go through Verizon/Asurian (sp?) and wait for a used and refurbished phone that has already had complications in the past.

It is, er... was, a great phone when it decided to work properly. The battery life was my main complaint until this

Yes, my Droid Razr Maxx phone will not come on as well. It was on this morning but now it will not come on i thought it was downloading software.

My Razr just went off too..I was talking on the phone and it worked fine till I got off the phone and now it wont turn on nothing and it too was working just fine this morning and I know it was fully charged.

Press and hold the power and volume button for 10 seconds. It will reboot the phone.

Press and hold the power and volume DOWN button at the same time for 10+ seconds and it will reboot the phone.

Press and hold power button+volume down key until the device powers off then release.

I'm having the same exact problem. Battery ran down super quick last night and then out of the blue the phone died tonight.

I just rebooted....we shall see what happens

Are you letting the phone Run down till the Red Led light Flashes an then with the Phone Turned off Charging it For 2 to 3 Hours if you have the Razr an 4 to 6 Hours if you have the Razr Maxx it needs to Charged this Long if you have the Maxx Because of it's Big Battery..

Thank you for all of the help- I know this is a little late, but I have been using the power & volume down button for quite a while. My phone, although on the charger, stopped charging during the night for some reason. I used a different charger to charge it up and it worked fine again. However, some times when I am using Pandora on my phone, it will shut itself off and restart. No big deal as it restarts itself! lol :smileyhappy:

I will run my phones down to the point that it shuts off, then I will charge it up while the phone is off. I do this about once every 4-6 weeks, and it seems to help the battery life. I did this while I had my Fascinate, and I have continued to do this with my MAXX.

OK, I am too getting the white light, but I have done the soft reboot, and taken it to the store. But my phone continues to reboot on its own, over and over. Why did it just randomly start doing this?

catsjc have you tried a factory data reset? Painful I know but better than suffering through those reboots..

Mine did the same thing on the morning of the 28th. Was working fine text messaging. Would not come on I tried a soft boot. Luckily my phone was only 8 days old. Two days prior to that my phone was in my pocket got really hot, enough to blister the back clear plastic and the need to remove it from my pocket. My new phone should be delivered where I am at today or Monday.

What apps have you installed lately? You could try starting the phone in SAFE MODE to see.

I Have Had The Sam issue. When I Charge My phone I Use The Usb And Charge It In a Usb port on my computer or tv or something. I Found out that they do not have enough energy to charge it ass well as its needed i plugged it into my wall outlet and now the white light is gone and it powered on.

Stick to what you said in your last sentence, turn it off and charge it for about 3 to 4 hours and you'll be good. When it get's down to the red indicator again do er again and give Circle Battery App & System Panel App a try there both good Apps..:smileyhappy: b33

Well...I said I would post back....I tried charging for 4 hours....no go....I had to get a replacement....I am still trying to figure out if it is an OS issue or hardware....I got my replacement phone, and so far so good....I'll let you know if I make it a month.

Where is it plugged in if you have plugged it into your laptop it wont work you need to plug it into the wall it isnt receiving a big enough current to boot when plugged into a laptop

I also have this problem!! I had my phone blink Red at me to charge it so I plugged it into my car charger. My car charger glitched and shut off which in turn shut my phone off instantly. It still wont come back on. I tried charging it all night and it still would not charge. I tried the Power + Volume Down several times throughout today and still nothing. Now I have it plugged into my computer by the USB and the white light is still on. I've heard this is possibly a protective mode? It's been plugged in for a little over a hour and the light is still on. Help please!

i had this same exact problem i got my phone to boot back up by plugging it into usb and got the white light to turn on and from there i just plugged it into a wall charger and viola the phone is back up and running.

The white Led light after the ( First ) update that the Razr's got was not included as Function to let ones know it's charging this happened on the Droid X as well when it got updated two years ago. On mine it will do a Quick Flash and Go out.

But as i said before the "Update" the Led started out white then changed Green when it fully charged..

Did you have to charge it for a while with the computer before it powered back up? I bought this phone today, started the update and when I picked it back up it would not turn on. This problem is oh so frustrating!

I would suggest charging the phone in a wall charger and not through the USB post on a computer.

Anytime your Updating a Phone to a New OS or Any Update for that matter you want to Do it with a Fully Charged Battery & be in a Location with very good Signal, Anytime a person buys a new device it's best suggested to use the Charger that Comes with it.! That Charger was designed especially for the Razr / Razr Maxx.. that is why they pack in the Box not just for Looks! it takes 4-1/2 hours to charge the Razr in the off position with this charger.. To charge the Maxx it's 5-1/2 to 6

worked for me....hold on/off and sound down at same time for 10 seconds....I had been using a sprint htc charger ....switched to the droid charger and working fine now............thanks for the info from here!

Yea the Charger that comes with is the Best to Use.. Or at the Least a Good substitute would be a Motorola O.E.M Travel Charger..

My razr battery died and i had all the problems mentioned. I tried charging it all day with no luck. With no warranty, and nothing to loose, I carefully removed the back of the phone to access the battery (take your time. its stuck on with a sticky glue, but will come off). At the bottom of the battery is two small screws. I removed the screws and disconnected the battery and let the phone sit for a while. I pushed the power button a few times to make sure to use up any stored power that could possibly be in the phone. I reconnected the screw and plugged it in and it started working.

Seems plausible. However, very risky. There are no metal terminals on the battery and it's just a thin ribbon cable from the bare battery to the board, which is very easy to tear. I am glad it worked for you.

The notification light blinks green when you have a new message or notification, and appears red when you start charging a dead battery.

Tip: If you receive a white indicator while charging, this indicates the battery does not have enough power for device to turn on.

In some cases you may notice different LED colors like blue or purple.
Android allows third party applications to control the multi-color LED and utilize other colors.
Facebook for example may use blue for its notifications. If you seeing notifications from other third party applications you can check the application settings for more details.

This happened to me but I fixed it.

I ran my battery down last night and plugged in my phone before going to bed.

No white light or anything. The next day nothing.

I did the power/volume down but nothing.

I finally took out my two cards and put them back in..and bam the power button worked fine.

Phone is booting now.

Assuming resetting the cards reset whatever was frozen on the phone.
