I have had the same problem for a few months now, out of the blue it wouldn't last. No new apps used or downloaded, nothing out of the normal and reported on here without any fix.
I used the phone a lot, I give VZW $~150/month for unlimited everything. I bought the Maxx for the sole purpose of having a handset that would last the talk time. For a year or so it did. Now today I got somewhat busy, but nothing like in the summer.
Well it lasted until about 3:15 (used a car charger at times too) and was so frustrated. Plugged it in to the charger, nope. 0%...... it took all of 15 minutes to have enough charge just to turn on. I caught up with a couple calls I missed and then bam.......... 4:15 powers off. POWERS OFF WHILE ON A CAR CHARGER!!!! Took another 15 minutes to get enough charge to turn back on. I work on deadlines, 4:30 is my deadline, and missed it because the phone refuses to turn on until it gets to 5% charge and the battery still gets drained while on a trickle charger.

The phone has been on 6h 58s and a lot of that while charged. Completely unacceptable.
I can't work with this phone, and VZW costing me $1800 year is not worth it. The only good thing about today was my un-locked GSM phone that arrived and my pre-paid $50/month UNLIMITED service SIM card will be here in a few. For me the exorbitant ETF of $230 will be worth it. I will make that up in savings after a few months.
VZW Motorola knows about this issue, they have done 0 to fix it, and I am done. I will be cancelling my service with VZW next month....... anyone who wants to buy a **** used Razr Maxx let me know.
