I love my razr maxx, until today, since getting the ics global update, i cannot send pics in text messages. I've rebooted the phone hard booted the phone, it always says its going to resize the picture, but then always says its too big and cant be sent. Anyone else with this problem or a fix?

So the re-sizing is failing instead of the text message failing to send the picture? Try reducing the MP settings in the camera to a lower resolution and then try sending the picture.
Also did you factory reset the phone after the update? Going from Gingerbread (2.3.4) to ICS (4.0.3 or 4.0.4) is a large operating system update. You might have some leftover code causing the re-sizing to fail or third-party application conflict.

I did try to reduce the mp settings in the camera, however there are only 2 options now, 6mp and 8mp i was already on 6. I did not do the factory reset, not sure how, and don't want to lose anything i have already

The factory reset will remove all the apps and things from your phone. It will not remove the items on your SD card though... There are apps out there that can backup SMS and other things, but it will be like setting the phone up when you first got it.

I just sent a screen shot to myself and it worked. I don't think it is a problem with ICS.

Voice to text is much improved. I use it when I'm driving. You can see each word as you say them. The whole UI is easier in that you can get to stuff from lots of places. For example, open apps and you can long press to add it to the home screen or go directly to the play store. The app grouping is pretty cool, drag all your navigation stuff on top of one another to create a Navigation group. I like the additional options on the Unlock screen also. Seems faster, but I don't have any actual data to support that. I'm missing 'in pocket detection'...just have to press the power button now...not that big a deal, but not as convenient.

That's good to know because I use voice input all the time for my texts. Still waiting for ICS, hopefully it'll be available soon

I too like the voice input, and i find the stacking amazing. all my games stacked together, sports apps stacked together. taking screen shots is pretty cool. seriously the only problem i have so far, is that i cannot send any pics with text messages. email no problem after resetting security types for both incoming and outgoing server settings, for my work email. google works fine.

Did you try the factory reset as other members suggested to see if that helped? In the past when I have done major upgrades to the OS on my various smartphones, I did not do a factory reset and luckily I had no problems post upgrade except from Eclair to Froyo (geez that was eons ago) I had a minor problem which resolved on it's own. For those of you who do a factory reset with a major update, do you do so before or after the update?

I usually do the factory reset after the update, but you can sometimes time the factory reset to be completed before the update and have it install the update at that time.
