Hello,
I am having the same problem with my Droid Razr MAXX. I am not able to attach pictures to text messages through the Gallery. This has been an issue for a few months now, since changing to Ice Cream Sandwich.
My Wi-Fi is turned off. Whenever I try to attach a picture (of any size) it gives me the following message: "Automatically resize picture before sending? Animation my be lost!" I agree, by clicking "Resize." Then it immediately gives me the message "Message size limit reached. Sorry, you cannot add this picture to your message."
Please help! - K

As a Razr Maxx user myself, that sounds very strange busymom25. Are the pictures you're trying to send taken from the phone with the original camera app? Are you using the native messaging application on your Maxx or do you have a third party app installed from the Play Store? Are you able to send a picture by opening the message app and adding an attachment instead? When your WiFi is off, are you still able to access the internet?
I also want to make sure these are the steps you're taking to send a picture from your gallery:
Apps>My Gallery>My Library>All photos>select the picture to send> tap Share>Text Messaging and if you receive the "Picture too large" message select Resize.
Thank you

Hi JenniferH_VZW,
In response to your questions...
The pictures I'm trying to send are taken from the phone with the original camera app.
I am using the native messaging application on my Maxx.
I am NOT able to send a picture by opening the message app and adding as an attachment either. When I try to do so, it gives me the same error message: "Message size limit reached. Sorry you cannot add this picture to your message."
When my WiFi is off, I am still able to access the Internet.
And yes, I do take the steps you listed above when I send a picture from my gallery. Each time, it gives me that same error message.

Busymom, thanks for providing us the info we needed. There are some size limitations on MMS. When the camera is set to the highest resolution, it is possible that these limits may be reached. Please see the limits here: http://bit.ly/14Oy8QM. Try lowering the resolution. Here are some steps for changing the camera settings: http://bit.ly/WFoBtm.
