When I receive a text, my notification sounds twice, while my email notification sounds only once. Not sure why the setting is like this, just one day it happened. It never bothered me, as it was nice to know what I was receiving without looking at my phone. However, I just switched to a new downloaded notification sound. Now, my old sms notification sounds, and then my new one sounds second to indicate a text message. Works fine with emails ~ just makes the new notification sound one time. ??? In settings, my new notification sound is listed. I just want the new notification sound, not the old one. Any suggestions?

This may not help, but try clearing the text message app cache, i.e., manage apps > all > text messaging > clear cache
