USB Issues

I'm having a problem that the files on my RAZR MAXX are all set to Read Only and I can't add new files to any of them. The phone is in USB Mass Storage mode. Help? How do I get by the Access Denied message I keep getting?

There's malware going around that will cause this - on the computer not the Maxx. Have you tried from another computer?

If it works ok on a different computer I'd download combofix and scan the one not working. The trojan that does it is not caught by all a/v software so don't assume you're protected.

If you have your Razr hooked to your computer with a USB cord, and it is in Mass Storage, you can not manipulate the files on your SD card in the phone. This is a safety feature so that your files/SD card doesn't get messed up. In fact, if you are hooked up this way, I'm surprised that you can see any file on your SD card. They generally become "invisible" on the phone, but visible on your computer as a new hard drive. And yes, some of the files are read only. These are generally the system files, operation files, and other files which makes your phone unique.
