Update Failed but Says UpToDate

My Verizon Droid Turbo 2 is showing a failed update but also that it is up to date. These are clearly mutually exclusive conditions. Verizon what is going on with your update service?

Same issue here around 2pm EST. The First update took with no issues, downloaded over WiFi, installed, apps optimized. Phone then started downloading step two, 1.2GB, over WiFi, pressed install, got countdown and then....... Nothing, phone just stayed on, no update. Current version shows 23.31.24. Check for updates shows system up to date. What's up VZW?!?

Mine bothered me all day about the update then fails and said up to date! Makes a lot of sense.

Already on my 2nd turbo 2 because Motorola said was defective due to update not functioning. Verizon and Motorola are clueless. My replacement doesn't even have the update. Guess I'll be filing a BBB complaint.

I'm about to do the same thing. This is a huge load of garbage. Lately Verizon customer service and technical support feels like they are completely clueless.

Not sure why Verizon Tech Support can't come up with the fix for this but with some research I came across this .pdf(http://www.verizonwireless.com/dam/support/pdf/system_update/BPOD-H9887-SUA-moto-V7.pdf).

Download the software at the sites on bottom of document:

This software updated my DROID TURBO 2 after over the air didn't.

I had actually never plugged this phone into my computer.  When I did auto-play popped up and asked if I wanted to download and install the Software Upgrade Assistant. Here's the kicker it said update available, unlike my device which thinks it's up-to-date.


The update is currently 15% downloaded. I'll update the post if this works. Thanks for the tip mtbrown0510

I am having the same issue. Started first update, failed. Now it says I'm updated and the update failed. Still hasn't updated the 1st one yet

Same issue here. Even factory reset the phone. But it still says update failed... Extremely annoying Verizon!

It would be nice if Verizonsupport would issue some sort of statement to let everyone know what is going on. Instead they just delete threads if it makes them look stupid. They don't realize they're doing that on their own by releasing updates, then pulling updates, then releasing them again just to show a failure to update & the message that it is updated.IMG_20160311_193750.jpg

Same exact issue here, I was on the phone with the Verizon tech support who pretty much said that I didn't need the upgrade... I'm at witts end... Verizon.... Can you hear all of us?!?!?!?

I can now confirm that this did fix the issue. I left my phone at home today because the update took an hour to get to 50% downloaded. However, when I got home I followed the instructions on the screen to unplug and re-plug my phone to my computer. This caused a pop up on the phone that I had to select an option to update from the computer and it finished. Hope this helps people with the same issue.
