Updates that won't upload....

My Razr Maxx has a message on the Notification bar that says "4 items waiting to upload" but they won't upload because underneath that it says "Remote device offline."  It has been saying that for three days now.  First, what does it mean when it says "remote device offline" and what has to be done to fix this problem so I can get the updates?  I don't know what the updates are, but I probably need them!

Go to My Gallery then Menu>Settings>MotoCast Settings>Motocast auto upload settings and make sure MC auto upload and upload while charging are unchecked.  Then turn your phone off and back on.

I think that should fix it.

How do you turn on the remote device to make the items actually upload to it?

You will want to install MotoCast on your computer and configure it so it knows what folders to share.  You don't necessarily have to have it automatically upload to your phone.  I don't, but that's up to you.  You can learn more about how to do that here and there's also their support site.

Did you make sure they were unchecked and turn your phone off/on?  If that fixes the problem and you want them to be checked later that's not a problem.  I had just read that solved your problem for some folks.

No, you don't need to download Motocast for your computer if you don't want it.   I find it very useful way to transfer files or view pictures that are on my pc.  Music too, but I really use Google Music's cloud service for that.

My Files, My Gallery and My Music  apps will all use Motocast if you have it set up to access those files/folders (Documents, Pictures, Music) on your home computer.  Your own cloud service which is nice since even a large SD card won't hold all those files if you have very many of them.
