Verizon upgrade software and now every one has poor to no service. Their response is to update phones, my phone has a build date of middle of June. They just want everyone to buy new phone or else switch carriers.
Which phone model is this update related to?
I rarely have issues with a system software updates on my phones for the last 4 years of Android devices. If I do, they are minor quirks and have been solved by a factory reset
I have a droid maxx and I have tried the factory reset

You are barking up the wrong tree. You bought a phone with Android software, which is controlled by Google. You need to contact Google with your concerns.
No it isn't "controlled by Google".It is open source. Do you know what that means? It is open to the public to review the OS code and do whatever they want with it.
