What device before the maxx

I was wondering what everyone used before getting the razr or razr maxx?  I had a fascinate before i upgraded to the razr maxx. The fascinate for me was a extremely tough and great performer. I had a few issues during the 2 years with it mainly involving the gps and the random screenshots. I upgraded to nthe maxx mainly for the 4 g and the battery life which i have to say is amazing. Ive also had a few issues with the maxx the biggest being is the hotspot will not be recognized by my computer ps3 or any other device that can use this function. when the hotspot malfunctions its a matter of rebooting phone removing it from my computers connections list and starting over. i can always get it back but it certainly is annoying. I love the maxx other than this but hopefully with the ics rollout  that will be solved. Time will tell.        Jesse

I too had a Fascinate with no problems except GPS lock took awhile. I still have it to use as a back up phone. Quite frankly, I prefer Touchwiz as the Maxx was my first Motorola, and though I like the phone I still have not gotten quite used to (am unhappy) with Motorolas' interface

I had the Motorola CLIQ with blah tmobile. Had it for 4 years then figured it was time to move on. It was a tough little phone though. Went through a million drops and a swim in the toilet and still worked. Lol android has changed alot since that phone came out, Thank god. If the razr maxx had the same version on the CLIQ I probably wouldn't have went back with android. This is a great phone 🙂

I also went from the Fascinate, which I had a few issues with it but not nearly as much as a lot of other people, to the MAXX, and it was also for the battery and 4G service. There are a few things that I liked about the Fascinate over the MAXX, but there are also things that the MAXX does better than the Fascinate. Hopefully ICS changes some of those. I also moved to Motorola because of the slowness of Samsung to do updates to their phones. I like how Motorola has a roadmap of their upgrades.

As far as the Hotspot, do you have the Verizon Data plan for the hotspot service?

I had a Galaxy Nexus that had radio issues mainly and some random rebooting. I really wanted to love that phone, but the bottom line is the Maxx does most things better and its splash proof. ICS on the G Nex was AWESOME, looking forward to it on the Maxx.

I do have the verizon hotspot plan that  went unlimited  and i thought how awesome with my new maxx with 4g i could stream  netflix  surf all the time lightning fast which i can if the hotspot stays connected  to my laptop. It will stay connected for hours on end sometimes or only stay connected 1 minute before the asterisk appears on my laptop saying limited access which means you cant do anything basically. Ive tried my 2 different laptops my ps3 and my tv which all do the same.  It will connect and sooner or later bam limited access.   This being with 4 blue bars on phone signal and full bars on laptops signal picking up the hotspot.  The only way to get it back is to delete it from my connections list and shut down laptop. Then i reboot phone and turn back on the hotspot. I  boot computer back up  check that the razr is is in the connections list   and hit connect and im on internet again .. but sooner or later it will happen again.  Ive changed every conceivable setting there is and even used different hotspot apps from the play store besides the native one .  Safe mode no help either . It still does it. Tethering works fine but slower that the hotspot .Hopefully ics will solve this problem but somehow i dont think it will. Ive read on other android based boards  of others having this problem but as of yet ive found no fix. If i could solve this id give this phone 5 stars but for now 3 is all i can muster up. If someone has a suggestion by all means lay it on me.    If ics fixes the problem then ill be oh so happy but got to get ics first and who knows exactly when that might be if it doesnt im not really sure what ill do but it will be something that lets me hold a 4g  hotspot connection as its my only source of internet at my house.    Have a good evening all     Jesse

I had a Motorola Droid for 2 years and have had the Razr Maxx since January.  Both phones worked perfectly with zero problems.  I have unlimited data and unlimited hotspot and it works perfectly as does the 3G and 4G.
