Why does my device keep losing signal after the update?

trying to see if Verizon will fix this for free or do I have to pay my deductible since this issue has only started since I got the "Upgrade".  Phone loses signal often, has rebooted on its own often (10 times in a row, with about 3-4 minutes of on time between reboots and did not get a signal), and battery life has depleted, thinking that is due to the loss of signal.

azjeeps,

I appreciate you keeping us posted with all the steps and results. When your device loses signal, is this only affecting your 3G/4G or is it also affect your voice as well? If this is only affecting your data, I would recommend replacing the 4G LTE SIM card. You can visit your local corporate Verizon Wireless store for a free SIM or we can ship one to you through customer service. http://bit.ly/3SdsA

As far as rebooting it is still randomly doing it. Just not taking it 5 or more times in a row.

As for a Sim card I have not been to a store to ask for one.

Thanks for keeping us posted azjeeps! We want to ensure that the phone is consistently working and the service is restored ASAP. Has there been any physical/water damage to the device? Also if you prefer, we can mail out a new sim card instead of visiting the store. Just let us know!

AshleyS I have the same phone just a bigger battery with mine I do at times see that it struggles a bit with signal I know on one of my App games Madden25 it takes for ever to load and I have removed most of my apps and my pictures and I recently installed a Sandisk 32 Gig 10 series card and it still struggles) As for my Sim Card I've never pulled it since the Day I installed it i was really careful how i handled it keeping my fingers from the Gold area of it.. So if it would call for replace of it I would say that would be based on only because the card could be failing.. hopefully that's not the case

I will continue watching it and if any changes should so o cure I will let you or one of the support specialist know.. thanks b

Ashly_s, I already stopped by a store and they changed out the Sim card for me. So far it seems to be working. My battery life is better and I currently have 45hours of up time with no known signal loss

Maybe I spoke too soon. It just started acting up again. Took it over a hour to come back to life.

My phone has decided that it will not allow any devices to use my hotspot for Internet access. It's like it locked out all of my devices. When I call customer service they try to get me to buy another phone. Rather than replace my phone I have to buy a new one? This is the 6th replacement I've had in less than a year. I'm tired of it.

Oh no! I'm disappointed to hear that! Are you receiving any error messages when you try to connect? Does your hotspot turn on at all? Do you still have the feature on your account or a Share/More Everything plan with hotspot included?

No error message. As for hot spot I don't use it very much. I know before this if I didn't use it for a extended time I had to restart the phone in order for it to work

Thanks for clarifying today azjeeps! Are you currently on the MORE Everything plan? When was the last time a full reset on the device was completed? Let's get this resolved!

I did the factory reset on Feb. 9.I am on the MORE everything family plan.  I went to a store yesterday and they put in a new SIM card for me as suggested above.  Currently have about 18 hours of up time.

That's good as long as when the card was installed it was handled properly and not touched in the Gold area of the Card, that's one place fingers shouldn't come in contact with doing so can cause some serious issues with a phone because it handles so much information from the card to make it operate properly.. so 18 hours no know issues you should be good to go. b

Don't think they touched the center part.  But as for time I was on roughly a 24 hour window.  I think the longest was 36 hours, as before all this started I was going like 100 days before I would reboot it to get speed back and clear some memory.

That's good..  on these new phones that came out just this last year they're making the Sim Cards that fit in them smaller and smaller ...

I agree. The same has happened to my IPhone. It is constantly losing cell service. This has become a communication nightmare!

We want to make sure your devices have service. If troubleshooting has been done, and the device is still losing service, it may be best to try a factory reset. Please make sure if you try this step to avoid doing an immediate restore. This way you can test your device as if it was new, to see if anything changes. Please back up your information to make sure it stays safe. You can try multiple sources if available to back up. Let us know if issues with service are the same after the reset is done.
