Why is my phone charging and powering off and on all by itself?

My Razor M is due for an upgrade in April 2015.  Yesterday it started overheating as I was charging it.  It will not charge now and it is powering off and then on constantly.  As soon as it powers on (all by itself) it will stop charging.  As soon as it powers off it charges again.  Any ideas?

It could be bad charger or something going bad in the phone have you tried an alternate charger if you have one try that if it continues take the phone into your Local Corporate store and have then evaluate it.. they may have to issue you another one..
