I am on an expensive plan. I have paid top dollar for my phone and had to put up 400 extra dollars because I have no credit rating. The first month's bill made my eyes bulge. I seriously believe I was being gouged.
I've made a few calls since I've owned this. Maybe three text messages.
My phone screen went black and was unusable. After a google later at home I get a fix. I am told to do a reset. I am not the only one with this problem. This is very disappointing to me. I hardly have used the phone since I live in an area without cell towers. On the occasions I go to town it is imperative that I have phone contact. For the money you guys are getting this is unacceptable product failure. I've put out over $800.00 dollars so far and the "black screen of death" is my compensation?

Hi oxman,
You are a valued customer and I want you to experience the best wireless service. You mentioned in your post that you have done a Google search and found that a factory reset http://goo.gl/252lc is the fix for the black screen. Have you done the factory reset?
If issue is resolved and then reoccurs after a few days/weeks is most likely due to a 3rd party application conflict. Please remove all 3rd party applications and then reinstall one at a time until you identify the bad app and remove it for good.
You can also confirm 3rd party application conflicts by running your phone in Safe Mode http://goo.gl/ApDdk for a while.
You can improve your signal reception if you reprogram your device: Power off, remove SIM card for 30 seconds, reinsert SIM card, and power on.
If the black screen issue continues and your device is within the one year manufacturer's warranty and has not sustained any physical/water damage you are eligible for a http://goo.gl/BLcY5 Certifed Like-New Replacement.

Thanks for the reply. Yes a reset did work to bring back my system. My apologies if the problem was a third party app. I will track any further issues.
