deleting an email from server

How do I delete an email from the server?  When I try to sign in it's telling me "you have already added this email account" but it's no where to be found.  And going into the help center it tells me to sign into my verizon and go to sync & connect, but I am getting nowhere with that. Can anyone help me please?
