Here is How to Retrieve the Code

The Personal Unlocking Key (PUK) code is an 8 digit code specific to your SIM card and is required when the PIN code is entered incorrectly 3 times on your phone

Your PUK code will be noted in the documents you received with your mobile device. If the device documentation cannot be located, simply follow the step-by-step guide below.

What it costs

There is no charge to retrieve your PUK code.

How it works

You’re given 10 attempts to enter the correct PUK code. If an incorrect PUK code is entered 10 times, your SIM card will be permanently blocked and you'll require a new SIM card.

Step-by-step guide

Step 1

Register or log in to your My Verizon account.

Step 2

Once you've logged in, navigate to ‘My Phone Setup' then 'Get Your PUK code’.

Step 3

Your PUK code is located under the list heading ‘Mobile Information’.

Using your PUK code

Step 1

Once you have your PUK code, enter it into your mobile device when prompted.

Step 2

After you’ve entered the PUK code, you’ll be prompted to choose a new 4 to 8 digit PIN code.

Step 3

You’ll then be asked to re-enter your chosen PIN code for verification.
