geeting some email on the razr maxx but not all, wrong dates etc.

I am able to get incoming email but am not able to send email. This was an issue with Comcast on my US Cellular service and Samsung phone. It's one reason I changed carriers but now it's the same on Verizon. I have changed the outgoing port number and messed with all of those settings as suggested thru some other googling. I've tried to get Comcast to help. It's time for a major carrier to work this out with Comcast since it seems an individual can't get anywhere. Please help. I want to use my Comcast (Xfinity) email when I'm not at home!
