i can't respond to a text when i recieve it. when i do it fails says unable to send msg.

Are you unable to send text messages to any mobile numbers or just to a specific phone number? Try deleting unwanted text messaging threads on your device and then power it off/on. Once you have completed those steps, try to send a new text message to that person. Keep us posted. We're here for you.
