just checking in here to see if you forgot about us droid turbo owners
just thought I would check in about our operating system update lot of rumors flying around out there just thought maybe you could shed some light on it for me
I believe Verizon and Motorola abandoned the Turbo. So sad.
While I completely understand that waiting for updates is a long and sometimes aggravating process, this happens every time there is a major update. They get delayed and everyone complains, moans and gripes. This is the way Android works. The system has to work with so many different phones and programs that often times the updates are pushed back due to bugs and conflicts. If you buy a phone you should be happy with the way it is out of the box because Android phones take a while to get updates every time or get then too soon and then you have to hear everyone gripe about how bad the update was.....If you want simplicity buy an iPhone.
The Turbo was "crippled" right out of the box BUT Verizon CSR's assured purchasers that it, the Turbo, would "soon" (there's that word Verizon has taken and given a whole new meaning to) be able to surf and talk simultaneously once AC (Advanced Calling) was enabled. What they didn't own up to is the Verizon coverage maps are mostly fiction or wishfull thinking. So unless you begin & end your call and remain stationary there,s a chance your call will drop and you may get a notification from your phone the using Data at this time is not possible (ALL WHILE IN WHAT VERIZON COVERAGE MAPS SHOW AS "4G LTE Data Coverage (Verizon 4G LTE)" and "Voice & Messaging (digital coverage)" . That's what complaints are about.
My phone has worked fine since the update. I drive all over central Illinois weekly for my job and have no difficulties with calls, messagin, surfing or voicemail. Obviously I don't know why you are having so many issues, but the phone really is a superior product. I love mine and wouldn't trade it for anything since the problems with the incoming calls were fixed. Hope you can get yours up and running like it should.
Totally agree with you. Here in PA (not Illinois), their map shows 4G LTE. Now, after countless phone calls they tell me, oh you're in a marginal area!!! WTH, then correct your maps and stop the BS of having the "best" coverage. So now they went ya to shell out 250 for a network extender, when ACCORDING to their maps you should be having GREAT service. Now I see why people get ticked off with Verizon. The Droid Turbo has the WORSE radio antenna. NEVER in my life have I had such a garbage phone. Oh for about 2 weeks it worked great. If they're having tower problems let people know.
Check the coverage maps for Rochester NY 14624 and tell me I should need a network extender when it clearly shows complete 4G LTE.
It's either the maps are guessing at coverage or the Turbo has a sucky radio (or both). Besides aren't extenders for 3G which with the Turbo doesn't allow simultaneous voice & data? Why pay more when it doesn't address the problem?

Click bait... Reports that it will be upgraded to 5.1 was directly from Motorola. They specifically said in their own words. Devices that haven't received 5.0 and were slated to and have not received it will be upgraded to 5.1. This make so much sense. All the problems you hear from the S5 to the Note 4 to the One M7 and M8 is due to bugs in 5.0 to 5.0.2. Google acknowledged them and said 5.1 will fix them. Sure you'll have to wait longer... At least you don't have to deal with a lot of the memory bugs.
Verizon also told us that once Advanced Calling was enabled we would be able to surf & talk simultaneously. I am stationary in what verizon claims is a full 4G area and better than 60% of my attempts to access data (with AC turned on & added to my device account) I get booted out of the voice call & presented with the data use is not possible.
If you had read the post you responded to you would already know that AC is on and has been added to the account. As to the question of LTE or WiFi, I am (should be) connected as LTE (LTE symbol is white, 2 bars) but.... Even though verizon claims I am in full (not extended) LTE coverage per the published map my signal strength is -119dBm. Oh, I am outside under a clear blue sky not near a blocking structure. I can change to connect to my home WiFi and will be able to access data so that points me to the 4G LTE coverage isn't as covered as you are showing & promoting on your website. I have subsequently turned off AC in settings so I can at least attempt to access data without dropping the call I am on.

I agree. They show 4G LTE coverage in my area, NOW they are saying it's marginal? Verizons maps are WRONG. I cannot, honestly recommend Verizon to people anymore, due to the maps being WRONG. No CSR can explain why they tell me with a 4G LTE capable phone they are telling me to get a Network Extender, when all my other previous phones did not need one., Droid Turbo. For me this is a HORRIBLE phone with bad reception. And @ Verizon, how about correcting your coverage maps?
This is completely Verizon's fault. They don't care about their customers apparently. They've got their signed contract and/ or their $600 for the phone, plus the monthly residual income coming in. Why should they give a damn? ALL the other AnDROID devices in the market using Lollipop (12.2% at last report), and the DROID Turbo owners are left out to dry. This device should have been the FIRST device to receive the update. It's the same build as a Nexus 6 which has had the update for how many months. Verizon is only about the $'s and not about the customers who pay those dollars.

So My question to Verizon Wireless Customer Support is where is it? It's not on my Turbo. And according to the chat I just had with customer support no one knows when its coming. All I got was that "Motorola has released but Verizon is still testing it".
Hey, I wanted to give a quick update on our progress on the DROID Turbo 5.1…
Motorola still working on it. Isn't even in Verizon's hands.
The specs say KitKat 4.4 not Lollipop for the DROID Turbo page.
The specs have been changed since this morning. As noted in the earlier post, this morning I saw that the specs said that the Turbo had 5.0.2. It also was noted in Droid Life:

It wasn't changed when I looked at the VZW page for the first time in months on a phone I never went to that page before. I looked before posting that comment. Now if the mobile site and desktop site different that's one thing, but I looked at both versions of the page.
