upgraded to Droid Maxx, how to import contacts

Hi,
I just upgraded to the Droid Maxx from the Droid Incredible, attempted to use BackupAssistant prior to activating the new device per the instructions, but apparently the backup never happened. I pushed SyncNow within Backup assistant but nothing happened. I got impatient and activated my new Droid, but now I have no contacts.
I connected my old Incredible by wifi and tried the backup assistant again, still nothing happens (though now it might be because I've activated a new device).
So, my question - is there any way to get my old contacts off the Incredible and on to my new Droid Maxx? Ideally I'd also like to get all my apps as well, but I'd settle for just my contacts as I can download the apps again as necessary.
Thanks,
Brett

Did you have a gmail account with your old phone? If you did, your contacts should sync from there.

Yes, I do have a gmail account, but not sure how my phone contacts would sync. So far, they do not seem to show on the new phone, is there a way to trigger that to happen?

I think if you go into your Droid Razr gmail account and select setting, you will then check the sync boxes you should be OK.

I just imported my contacts and know what you are going through. It was a real challenge and all you need to know is to call Verizon support. They are happy to help you through the process. It took us 30 minutes and I would never have figured it out without their help.
The real issue is: Where are you going to get the contact list? If it is from an email program that imports and exports excel type data files, you have it made. Call Verizon tech support.

You know Verizon has a program that serves as a cloud to store and obtain that data from your old phone. Check with them. They will walk you through it.

This is what you Can do as Jim suggested Take an enter your Gmail account that you have in your Incredible and put it into the Razr Maxx once you see that every thing is in there that you want. Then you will want to Factory Reset your Incredible an Shut it off so i there's no conflicts between the Two.
This is exactly what i done when i got my Maxx an transferred the Contacts from my Inc. to it

you have to login to the gmail account to download any apps. most folks login when setting up the phone.
when logged in, the maxx accesses the gmail account, if sync boxes are checked, it'll be done very quickly.
why do a factory reset, if the maxx dies, could go back to a workable phone for the short term.
if the incredible's off, there's no conflict.

Your contacts are already saved on your gmail account on the Google server. When you setup your new Razr with your gmail account, it will automatically download your contacts to your new phone. It is basically automatic if you follow the instructions correctly.

bretthunt,
I'm sorry to hear that the contacts didn't move over. Did the Incredible state the sync was completed successfully before activating the Razr? You can login to vzw.com/myverizon to view your contact list in Backup Assistant. If your contacts have been syncing with Google/Gmail, you can login to google.com/contacts to view those too. Please keep us posted.
Thank you,

Thanks for following up, I got the issue resolved through calling tech support, they just had me download the contacts to the SD card and move it over.

You may want to try Verizon's "Welcome Home" application. I was able to transfer all of my data and contacts from my BlackBerry to my new RAZR Maxx. Find info here: http://www.markspace.com/welcomehome/
Good luck!
