why does my phone keep Flashing diff led lights.what do they mean?

also..how do I put my phone in safe mode??..so no third party downloads can affect my phone..people who could've possible secretly downloaded harmfull apps..virusis..or spyware on phone without my knowledge..where nothing can run in the background.called safe mode..only works till phone shuts off again..then u hav to do it again...I have webroot premier for virus protect..will this work against spyware??would be really nice to get a computer wiz kid to teach me all the tricks and tips..for p.c.and my droid razor max h.d.

Another thought, take out your owners manual and read up on your phone. If you don't have one available you can go to http://www.motorola.com and type in your phone model under support, and download your manual.

The ability to turn off/on download third party apps is in your phone settings. Again the manual.

That technological wiz kid you were talking about, well, I'm your guy. And you bring up some great questions here that I'm eager to address. So, let's get started.

Right off the bat, maintaining your LED lights is simple. Just go to settings > display > LED indicator to manage. Now, for putting your device in safe mode, here's how http://vz.to/rxg0ii . This will ultimately disable third party applications from running on your phone, but typically we only use it for troubleshooting in case you may have downloaded an app that has been harmful. If you have not downloaded anything from the Play Store, you won't have a thing to worry about. Additionally, you may find some third party applications helpful like Webroot for that added bit of security but I can't speak to their product. More than anything though, if you're simply careful about what you personally download to your device, you shouldn't have any issues. If you are afraid that someone loaded something you do not know about, take it to a Verizon store and have them do a factory reset, and then they can help you set it back up, with only the apps that you want.
