How can I tell if my phone is unlocked?

I visited the US in May and signed up with Verizon for a month-long package that included a free Moto 5g 64GB with data and texts. I extended the period for a second month because I was told that, after two months, the phone would unlock and I could put in another SIM card back in the UK.  The two months will be up soon.  Do I just put in a UK Sim and see what happens, or is there a way to check if the phone has unlocked?

If I have problems, is there an email address for Verizon that I can start a conversation with?
