Hello,
I am in Mexico and I want to use a Telcel Sim card with my Moto G Power (2022) phone. I currently have a Verizon plan.
I removed the Verizon sim card, inserted the Telcel sim card, but cannot use the Telcel card because I am getting a message that my telcel card is not connected to my Verizon account. How do I use a Telcel card independently of the Verizon account. I do not want the 2 linked.
I have 2 Sim cards: One for Verizon and one for Telcel. I want to interchange them when I want without linkinkg the 2 accounts.
Needless to say, I'm not great with technology. I thought my phone would read the sim card.
Any help is appreciated.

flowerperson, I'm sorry you're having a little trouble with the SIM there in your Moto G. I did some checking and confirmed a few details. First, the Moto G is not a Dual SIM device so it's not able to have two different phone numbers on the device. Secondaly, if your Moto G is still in the 60-day post purchase period, it would still be locked to Verizon and can't be used with other services. You can see our Unlock Policy here: https://www.verizon.com/about/consumer-safety/device-unlocking-policy
The one last thing to share is, devices meant for the Verizon network, even when unlock may not work with another carrier. It's not something we can guarantee, as all the carriers use different systems. If the Moto G is unlocked and able to use an international SIM there is a chance it may not work.
If you have further quesitons let us know.

Thank you.
I've had the phone for over 2 years, so, if I'm reading the information you kindly provided correctely, the phone should be unlocked. so I guess I need a new phone.
Thank you.

Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question. But have you signed up for service with Telcel and activated the phone in Mexico with the Telcel SIM inserted? You do not want to activate a foreign SIM while in the US, because then the phone would go into roaming mode and the overseas carrier will consider it international usage, which gets expensive super fast. It sounds as if you do not have a separate line with a Mexican phone number set up with Telcel, if the phone wanting to use the foreign SIM on Verizon.
Per the Verizon agent's comments, you might want to check the specs on your phone as well as what type of network Telcel is using. If they are still on 2G or 3G, your Motorola may not support it as the US is 4G and 5G.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
