Multi-Volume control stopped working on Motorola Edge 2022

The volume buttons suddenly stopped responding. I cannot turn the volume up or down using the volume buttons. I was opening an app and tried to turn the volume down for the app and the volume slide popped up but the volume didn't change. I have tried restarting my phone several times but that didn't fix it.
The last update was December 16, 2023

I figured it out without resetting the phone. So apparently my phone thought the Spotify app was open (on the phone) but it wasn't, it (Spotify) was running on my computer. So, every time I tried to adjust the volume on my phone, it (phone) was trying to adjust the volume of Spotify on the computer. Once I closed the Spotify app on the computer and restarted both the phone and computer. It (volume control) started working properly again.
