Unlock brand new Verizon phone

I bought a Verizon phone. My carrier says I'm allowed to use Verizon phones. The new phone is locked by Verizon. I cannot access customer service. Been trying for 2 hrs

Whomever told you that a locked Verizon phone will work with them gave you incorrect information.  I'd get a refund from the seller.  Verizon's unlocking policy states that you must use the phone for 60 days on Verizon's network and then it will automatically unlock.
