A call to Kindness

B-liever
Enthusiast - Level 1

My dear fellow Human Beings,

Sometimes, life can seem harsh; it can feel so cold and indifferent. And on these days, it is no exaggeration to say that sincere kindness, no matter the medium, serves to remind us of the true goodness of life; its real richness. And that is in our connection with ourselves and each other. It's in our exchanges; it's in each word. And to share in this comfort, however brief, is in my opinion more than worthy of celebrating. And I do celebrate the wonderful human beings who help people all day here. That they do it with compassion. That they do it patiently. That they exist at all. I do appreciate you, and you all do have something beautiful in you. Whether agent or customer, caller or receiver; there is the fulfillment waiting in the space between us to share in a kind word, a refreshing and rejuvenating moment of gratitude, and warm smiles which soothe any rough feeling even without seeing them.

And I give my thanks to one in particular who was a delight to speak with, and share in that restful and warm space of honest connection, and heartfelt encouragement, not least to mention caring service. And fitting as it might be to an odd fellow like me, I wrote a poem inspired by pleasant experience with said kind soul.

A humble night,
Lost to change
And billing blight;
Relief seemed too far
For hope to be in sight.
Then a candle, no,
A flame;
A light to be sure
Just the same.
Lit as one who smiles,
Freely,
Warmly,
To those
Who wander in
Heavy miles.
One who walks beside them
Not for greed,
Nor in haste impatient,
Or for playing any game;
But to help, purely,
And without gain.

Even for the departing.
As I, one disheartened,
Sought to port away
From seven years
Of when it started.
No, it took no pleading;
It was only met,
Naturally,
With peaceful
Gentle
Reading
Of words both
Generous,
And swiftly healing.
And I was helped,
And assured,
And left with
Restored faith
That kindness
Was alive and breathing.

And now this humble B,
Though leaving,
Is kept believing.
And he gives his thanks
And a warm smile
To the B of beauty;
That all her calls,
And every radio wave,
Be truly kind
And groovy.

I'll be leaving Verizon after seven years here, but I just wanted to say thank you for everything, sincerely. I'm sure thanks to you, I have made so many calls, and shared so many memories, because of what you contribute towards here. It is no small thing, and you have my gratitude.

And may I say, my final experience here was the most memorable. From B to B, Bella you are truly a star ๐ŸŒ
