Returned my Fios devices but now getting emails saying I did not return one item

I returned my fios equipment to Verizon. Now they say I did not return one item. I returned everything. However, the in-store person only scanned the big box, not the smaller adapter. Now I'm getting automated emails saying return it or I'll be charged.
The 800 number was no help. I went back to the store. They said wait a week. I actually have pictures of both devices in the store showing that they were returned.
