Can't Add/Update Nicknames on Verizon account in the Usage Message or Minutes logs

I've tried updating phone numbers on my usage log with nicknames.  Every time I click the phone number, a box to add/update the number pops up very briefly.  I've changed a phone number to a nickname several times before.

It wasn't working for me the other day, either. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the recent outage or hiccup or whatever the web site was experiencing because there's also other features that don't always work correctly or consistently.

Being able to make updates to nicknames in your My Verizon usage logs is definitely important, kngoff11. It is certainly a nice feature to help quickly identify calls in your call log online. We would like to gather some additional details so we can help work on getting this fixed. What happens if you try a different web browser? What happens after you clear cookies & cache in your browser? If you're unsure how to do this, please let us know what browser you're using, and we can provide some steps.

I tried to do the same thing on Firefox, but couldn't.  The box to add/change nicknames blinked on for 1-2 seconds and the disappeared.

It's still not working for me. This isn't the first time that it's been messed up; it's happened several times over the years, unfortunately.

I tried to add a nickname but could only add one character/letter.

I'm sorry to hear that you're still having trouble adding nicknames for contacts in your usage history, kngoff11. I just attempted this through My Verizon mobile on my personal device and it seemed to be working for me. It's been a few days since you're last message, are you still having trouble updating those nicknames?

If so, I would check to make sure the My Verizon app is up to date on your device first, then we can dive into some troubleshooting. Please let me know if this is still happening.

Still isn't working for me on the desktop/web version of My Verizon (nor are some other features of the web site).

Yes, updating nicknames is still a problem.

I noticed something odd happening now when I try to sign in for the first time each day.  Normally when I click sign in, I would see the UserName and Password Box.  Now, I have to put in my UserID or Mobile Number, click continue, and then choose between "Text or Push Notification" and "Password".  I always choose Password.  Once I type in that information, the screen doesn't take me to my account Home page.  It takes me to a page that is mostly blank with the option to "Reload".  This of course doesn't do anything.  So I have to close the tab and open Verizon.com again.  This time once I type in UserID and Password, it takes me straight to my account Home page.  If I sign out and sign in again, it takes me straight to the Home page and doesn't give me that weird page anymore until the next day.

I wonder if this is causing other problems such as the Nickname issue which is still a problem.

Using the Verizon App, I've tried to add/update the nicknames.  When I first used the Verizon app to add a nickname, it worked.  I even checked the Verizon website to make sure it retained the nickname.  Since that first attempt, I've found that the added nickname is not retained through the Verizon app or Verizon website.  I've tried multiple times to add the nickname, but it doesn't work.  The only thing that has changed is the length of time that the "Add/Update Nickname" box stays visible.

The issue isn't with device nicknames, it's with the call and text logs nicknames. The feature has been squirrelly in the past and hasn't been working for several weeks now.

Also, I'm not trying to add a nickname to a device.  I'm trying to add a nickname to the phone numbers we call or receive calls from.

I am still unable to update nicknames.  In the web browser (Chrome, Firefox & Edge)  the box pops up for less than a second and disappears.  This happens on both my laptop and in using Safari on my iPhone.  The Verizon app also doesn't allow me to change / add a nickname to a contact.
