Receiving texts and calls for someone else

I have been receiving texts and phone calls for someone named "David". Apparently "David" gave my number (either accidentally or as a fake number) to some political organization. Now I get an average of one phone call or text message from said political organization per day. I hit the "report spam" but they continue coming from different numbers. My guess is that this number was given to other numbers within said organization for support and donations.

Hitting the "report spam" button doesn't stop the messages from coming, only from that number. I have already set up a "do not call" registry, but I don't think it will work because this number was actually given to them.

Any suggestions?

Verizon, I am also having this issue and it's been going on since the last election. This person has been bold enough to list my number in the White Pages directory as his mobile number!! Could someone contact me and tell me how I can solve this problem?
