The 5G Home Internet is running off of cellular service, as is your phone.  You mentioned you've got a 3rd party signal booster system, which is the only fix for weak cellular signal other than switching carriers.  Have you registered the signal booster with Verizon?  With a signal booster, your signal strength should be better than 1 bar, unless the booster isn't compatible with Verizon.

One bar of service is not reliable enough for calls to work well and will cause drop-outs or poor audio quality.  The tower you are seeing may not be used by Verizon.

I have not registered the booster with verizon . Thanks for bringing it to my attention . I was told I have internet on accedent . The option for service at my address is not serviceable . When I bought my phone they said it was available. But they were looking at my old address in louisville . My shipping address in loretto . Recap summery . My service address is in louisville . But shipping address where I live and using internet is in loretto . When I recieved the modem router extender combo the rectangular box . It had a paper saying " only use equipment at service address . I called . They said to keep internet traffic down there was no room for me on the tower. No spot for me . Wich I find discriminating . They told me I would be put on a priority list for a spot . Till then I could use the residual residue signal . I hope they don't forget about me . Im on the county line . I would prefer cable but spectrum has to stop some where I guess . Verizon has a monopoly out in my rural area . Only other option is satellite.  Wich is as un reliable as a residual signal . Guess ill hurry up and wait . But pay full price . Ive paid 90 in video conference wich was 2 sessions . I'll register my booster and point it towards the tower that I can see from my window . I used the app meter to find a green spot in my house up high by the window . I do get dropped broken wifi calls . Disconnects random when playing video conference poker . And mmo's world of warcraft and star wars the old republic . Im a full time gamer and disconnects playing poker it folds you . Ive lost alot of potential gains in poker this way very frustrating .and mmo in the middle of an instance ya get kicked and have to start over with a new group . Very frustrating . And 45 for video trouble shoot that dint help . I knew more about computing than they did . They should offer thet technology for free . Since Skype is a free service . Sheesh.

Skype has been retired, I thought?

As for your internet gateway, I'd disconnect the service and return the equipment to Verizon.  Even if the signal wasn't weak where you currently are, if there is a disconnect between the addresses like you're describing, I suspect that's going to cause problems.  While I typically refuse to plug the competition, the other 2 large competitors Verizon has don't work at all where you are?  Because even the one who used to say they'd never be in the "fixed wireless" internet business now offers it.  The other company has been pushing their fixed wireless internet for years.

Hopefully registering your 3rd party booster will at least improve your cell phone service.  As for data speeds, unfortunately I don't have a good answer for you.  I too am a gamer, and for gaming you really need a steady, fast internet speed which is best obtained with a wired service.  If you're somewhere which has awesome 5G speeds consistently, might be OK on cellular, but in rural areas it's either low-band 5G or 4G LTE. 😞
