Issues with new service

I recently made the switch to verizon from tmobile and have had only bad experiences so far. Why are my devices going into SOS suddenly and calls are going to VM randomly as well? I tried to make a call at 4 am and my device said i was in mexico and did not let me! One line is a business and this CANNOT be happening. I was with tmobile for 12 years and never had this happen!! My zip code is 78566

I don't know what's going on with the Mexico situation, unless you have been making all/most of your calls so far in Mexico.  There's verbiage in all the service plans saying if you make 50% or more of your calls outside of the US in otherwise "covered" areas, then such calling privileges may be taken away (in which case, I guess you'd have to use an international service plan of some sort or otherwise sign up for service with a Mexican carrier assuming your phone is unlocked).

Is your signal strength very poor?  I.e., one bar a lot of the time?  This will cause calls to not go through properly and end up in VM, or for your phone to go into SOS because it's struggling to pick up any connection and may lose it altogether.

no, i do not go to mexico nor make any calls to mexico, not a single one. And yes phones are usually in one bar and i do not live in a rural area which is why its frustrating

That's annoying.  I'm assuming you brought your phones in as BYODs when you ported into Verizon, so they aren't Verizon phones?  Some of my speculations are:

-Other carrier phones, even unlocked, may still not quite like a different carrier, because they are optimized to work with the carrier with whom they've been permanently branded.  I had this experience with my unlocked carrier variant phone when I tried your old carrier...signal strength was horrible all the time.

-When I looked up your ZIP code, there's quite a bit of water around.  Water doesn't just destroy phones, it doesn't get along well with Verizon either...I've seen posts from others in completely different areas, but if they were near a lake as an example, Verizon just didn't work. ๐Ÿ˜ž This appears to be a quirk of the network, as the other carriers do not have this problem around bodies of water.

-It is possible that your account needs to be reprovisioned and/or your eSIMs changed out or your devices need to be "told" which SIM or eSIM to use if they are dual-SIM phones to get things running better.

If all else fails and you are not under a contract of some type which would cause you to incur huge penalties for leaving early, you'd have to return to your former carrier, or see if they have any kind of promotion where they'd be willing to buy out your current contract to go back.  Can't just have non-working cell phones in these times, and certainly not if one line is a business.

Hello, samanthaleem. Help is here as we want to ensure you have only the best in service with us. Thanks so much for the zip code. I do see you are very near Mexico and there could be an issue with your phone picking up a tower there. What is the make/model of your phone? Do you have roaming on or off?
