Order never delivered

I am writing this post  because I am out of solutions

I Placed an order for a new iPad

Verizon charged me for the order and shipped it out via FedEx with signature required.

FedEx attempted to deliver to a residence when no one was home, they left a note on the door.

I signed the note and asked the driver to just leave the package, but the next day the exact same thing happened, the driver didn't leave the package, he just left another note.

The next day the exact same thing happened.

On the third day, I got a note that the package was being held at the FedEx facility.

I called the FedEx facility but they said they can't release the package, because the shipper (Verizon) required it be delivered to the address and signed for at the address. 

I called Verizon and they told me they would reach out to FedEx and sort it out, I will get an email with an update.

I never got that email 😞

I called Verizon again, and this time they told me that we need to wait till FedEx sends the device back to Verizon, then they will cancel the order and only then can I place a new order for pickup in store.

Of course, the device is still stuck at FedEx, I'm paying for the service, since Verizon sent it out and I am stuck with no options.

Calling Verizon customer service just gives me the same answer "You need to wait"...

I am extremely frustrated by this and after almost 20 years that my business has been using Verizon, I am stuck and hitting a brick wall - how can I get out of this jam, get my device and move on?
