Poor reception

Our immediate area in our neighborhood has long had poor reception. In a small 3 or 4 block area, when outside we only get 1 bar reception and we canโt access maps, make calls, or send texts. Once we leave the immediate area we get 4 bars of 4g. Another block or two away we get full 5g service. We are in a metropolitan area that otherwise has good reception. If it werenโt for having wifi in the house, our phones would be useless. It does not appear to be a fault specific to my phone, rather it happens to anyone with a Verizon phone in the area. How do we get Verizon to fix this?

Dlb333, we understand how important it is to have consistant service and we understand how concerning it must be to experience inconsistancies when you are at home and the areas nearby. We are here to help and investigate further. How long have you been experiencing issues in this area? Have there been any changes to the area around your neighborhood such as new buildings? What zip code is this occuring in so that we can review the coverage in the area?

Thank you for responding. Zip code is 48103., the specific area is about 4 square blocks. We have experienced this in our area for several years using different phones. It is bizarre that our little several block pocket has virtually no reception when the surrounding area is fine.

Hi, sorry to hear you've been having trouble with picking up Verizon signal for such a long time. Unfortunately, dead zones can occur anywhere as there are multiple causes. A network extender may or may not help in your situation, but until Verizon installs more equipment in your area, the problem isn't going to go away. IMO you're better off asking the neighbors who they use for cellular service as somebody must surely have decent signal and port out to them.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
