Poor reception

Why is my WiFi and cellular service so bad?  I’m paying a fortune to Verizon each month and my wifi signal is weak and I only get one bar of cellular in my house. I have to step outside to take calls.  I live in an urban area. Philadelphia.  How can it be so bad?

You might need a network extender. First you should call Verizon & tell them to refresh the signal going to your phone.

Both.  I have Verizon cellular and Fios residential. Reception for both is poor.

Fios and cellular service are 2 different technologies so at least one of them should be working.  Are there a bunch of different Wi-Fi networks coming up when a device scans for available Wi-Fi sources?  If a bunch of different Wi-Fi sources are too close together, can cause interference with each other.  As for poor cellular service too...you wouldn't happen to live close to an airport (radio tower interference) or maybe there's some strong EMF source somewhere blocking reception?  There are other causes for dead zones in wireless service, so hard to say.
