If I want to cancel my Verizon service, will the remaining promotional credits be applied to the final bill?
for example if I got a credit for bringing in my own device, $435, will that go towards what I have left to pay off the phone? Or will I have to pay the full $887.07? Does that apply to a trade in as well?

If you leave early, all promotional credits stop and you will be forced to pay the outstanding balance on your phone. I don't know all the details of your arrangement of course, but have seen this happen to others who left before the 36 or whatever months were up.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

Great question, Jacob08. Our trade in promotions require you to keep the device for the term of the payment agreement to get all the credits. If you cancel your service, you will lose out on the remaining credit. ~Peter
