Service is terrible the last two years

My service has always been pretty good since about 2005 but about two years ago I went from full service and fast to literally zero service my county was a Verizon county I got service everywhere. And I’m not exaggerating when I say I live about 3 miles away from two different towers but nowhere in my county can I get above two bars and 90% of the time those two bars will not let me make a phone call or send a text this is terrible  we pay premium and get the worst service you guys have ever offered

There are a number of things which could be causing the problem, but I'll post just a couple of them for now so as not to be overly verbose.

1) Device Incompatibility with Current Network Technology: 3G was shut down a couple years ago if I'm remembering it correctly.  Verizon has been expanding their 5G coverage recently.  If your phone is not at least 4G capable, not going to work anymore.

2) Account Provisioning and/or SIM card issues: If your phone is 5G capable, but your area did not use to have 5G and now it does, your account and/or SIM card may only be set up for 4G access.  However, a 5G capable phone will pick up 5G radio waves if present, and if the account provisioning or SIM card is outdated, will cause the phone to completely lose internet connection every time it goes into 5G mode because either the provisioning or SIM card is "stuck in the past" and your phone thus doesn't know what to do with the 5G.

Oh, no! Dealing with service issues can be frustrating, especially if you have had terrible coverage for two years. Verizon is here to help.

 

What exactly happens when you attempt to use your device? What recent changes have you made? Who else is experiencing this problem?

I have been having the same network coverage issues and have several tickets.  I live in a rural area and only have satellite internet, no broadband.  After 2  months of calls Verizon’s solution was lte network extender (router required).  Thanks not helping!  Yet I pay top $$ for my 1 bar service.  Would like any suggestions that might help.  Yes I have newer IPhone 14.
