Verizon won’t honor offer agent made

Agent made an offer to upgrade to new phones without changing our old plan. We wanted to look at the phones in person to decide what model we wanted. When we rejoined chat like an hour later, the new agent wouldn’t honor the  offer. Went into the Verizon store after an hour and a half on the phone with agents and the sales person said he could see the offer and could do the upgrade with no change to our plan. After another 20 minutes he told us he could see the offer on our account but couldn’t process it unless we upgraded our plan. We have been customers for 20 years and are now looking at switching to another provider because being lied to by multiple agents and wasting hours of our day is just ridiculous. Anyone else have this issue?

We're sorry to hear about the situation at the store and chat. The last thing we ever want is for you to feel like your time was wasted, or for incorrect information to be provided. I'm glad no changes were made to your account that would have caused you more issues later on, and the mistake was caught by our agents during the order process. Unfortunately, we're not able to change requirements for promotions. I recommend checking our deals page here for current promotions: https://www.verizon.com/deals You can also take a look at your personalized offers here: https://m.vzw.com/P27pY8M0

We would really hate to lose you as one of our long time customers, and we're sure you'll be able to find a promotion you qualify for.

Whoever told the OP they could get a phone deal on anything not Unlimited Ultimate or maybe Unlimited Plus (there's an iPhone deal online currently for either Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate) is not properly trained on how the promotions work.  Or they were trying to make commission?  But usually, any promotion involving a device requires you to sign up for Unlimited Ultimate.
