I am at my wits' end with Verizon on this. My new phone was activated with a new phone number with Verizon in July. It worked fine until September 22. On September 22, my phone stopped connecting to cellular and just showed "SOS." It could not place or receive calls or texts. Text messages to that number go to a STRANGER who responds that it is their number through Verizon. The number is still associated with my account. I am still paying for it.
Verizon customer service -- at least 10 representatives at this point -- have been entirely unable to help. They claim no one else has the number. This is objectively false and I have the text messages with a stranger to prove it. I am endlessly frustrated and am now shouting into the void. Deactivating and reactivating the phone has been tried -- several times -- and has not worked. Releasing the eSIM has not worked. Locking the number has not worked.
Anyone have ANY ideas that can help?
