Need to manually refresh voice mail app to get new voice mail messages - do not get automatic notifications

My voicemail app stopped showing notifications when a voice mail is left. I need to manually select refresh to get the voice mail to appear. I am using the "included" version of visual voicemail.

It used to work, at some point it stopped working, possibly after an android version update.

I have confirmed that the app is setup to generate a notification

We appreciate you checking the voicemail settings to get us started. Have you happened to notice if this specifically happens when connected to Wi-Fi? Other than a software update, do you recall adding any new apps, games or software recently? -Loren

Failing to get the Voice Mail notifications occurs both when I am connected to WiFi or 5G Network.

I do get notifications from other applications including Yahoo Mail and Message+, it is only the Voice Mail application that does not provide the notifications.

I had not added any apps before the notifications stopped coming in for Voice Mail.
