1x ??!!!

I have the latest updates on my Galaxy S3 and I live in a major city where the 4G coverage map shows great coverage,  however, when I am not in wifi, my phone only shows 1x service speed. This is ridiculous. Not sure how to fix this. Suggestions welcome or I am switching providers.

I want you to have the best wireless experience possible Maydae04! Before you do a hard reset please try reprogramming your device as this has resolved similar issues for others. To reprogram please remove SIM card for one minute http://bit.ly/TMHSVi then reinsert and test. If this fails to improve performance, please try the http://bit.ly/LfV00q hard reset.

Ahhh yes....I had the same problem on my note 3. If you can sometimes a device rest will help out or you might need to check and see if an update is available..if you have phone protection try and see if they can send you another phone.

I have all the updates possible. A hard reset seems like a crappy solution, but will keep it in mind. Thanks for the reply!

What about a network refresh, you won't lose anything...

I noticed connecting to the 1xRTT network more often when the 4G LTE network is down or undergoing maintenance. I had a stretch of days where that's all I would get downtown. Before the usual network I could connect to was the 3G EDVO network. Afterwards the 4G LTE network was stronger and more steady inside then I had ever seen. Perhaps your area is going through a similar situation.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
