Activating replacement phone

I had to file a claim to replace my damaged S4, received the new phone over night but cannot activate it! Can I just take the SIM card out of the old one and place it in the new?

Yes, swap the SIM and you should be able to activate. If you have any issues, Live Chat works great for activation, for which you can also do in My Verizon and activate a device.
