All caller id says Unavailable

Like many people who received the recent update (VRBMF1), I initially had problems due to the new CallerID Name app keeping 4g on even while on wifi I disabled the app, and the 4g issue was corrected, but now any incoming call says Unavailable. No phone no., no name or picture if they are in my contacts. I've tried reinstating the app, but everything is still Unavailable.
Very frustrating that they don't test the updates better and force misbehaving bloatware apps! Of course the battery life seems a little worse too, and it gets hot to the touch when using it, but one thing at a time.
Anyone else getting Unavailable for all their incoming calls, or have ideas how to correct it?

Tried a few different things, and did some net research. Some people suggested synching my contacts to Google, then deleting them and resynching them. I did not want to mess with that until I was sure.
Called Verizon and asked them to check if my account had the standard Caller ID feature on it. The extremely helpful rep confirmed it was there, but tried removing it and adding it back. After that incoming phone numbers were visible again and contact names showed up as well.
The Verizon rep dug a little deeper and found that the caller ID feature had been in force until 6/16. Then another caller ID feature showed up after that. Neither of us could figure out what happened, but it's fixed.
