Android Phone sending old text message

Yesterday my My Samsung Galaxy S9 started sending old text messages out, some from as long as 1 year ago. How do I fix this?

Hi, empem. We want your device to remain current and not stuck in the past. Help is on the scene. What messaging application do you happen to use? Any recent changes to the device? -Chris

I'm using the Samsung Messenger. A software update was done on 8/14. The old text messages starting sending out on 9/12.

Thank you for the helpful information, empem. Let's continue looking into this further. Is this issue happening with specific contacts or all contacts? Does this issue happen when the device is connected to Wi-Fi or LTE? -Gerson
