Aol works now for about 5 minutes on my phone after I delete and reinstall. I get the following email from Verizon;
Your account XXXXXXXXX@aol.com could not be authenticated. If you have recently changed your email password, please enter the most current password in settings to continue receiving emails.
Bought the phone in October and it worked fine up until 3 months ago. About every week or so I would get the above email and would reconfigure the account and it would get emails for about a week. Now it only takes a few minutes to get the email and for the phone to stop receiving AOL.
The entered password is correct. We have not changed it.
My wife and sons have the same phone and have no problems accessing the account
Spoke to Verizon support yesterday and they said they were not sure what was going on and we did a hard reset and the problem still exists.
Spoke to Best Buy Samsung experience rep who said the problem is that only one phone can access aol. Why did it work for 2 years with the older phones and for 6 months with the new?
I really use this email a lot now to communicate with teams I coordinate. Anyone have a solution? Thanks

Hey Orner205,
Receiving e-mails to your phone is extremely convenient and I want to make sure that you are able to do so. Thanks for providing the troubleshooting that you have already completed. That certainly does help out a lot.
Are you using the stock e-mail application? If so, I would recommend downloading the AOL mail app from the Google Play store and see if that works better for you. Sometimes the mail app developed by your mail provider work better since it was specifically designed for that purpose.
Try downloading the app and keep us updated with results.

Have you removed that AOL account from the list....and tried to set up it from scratch ?
Looks like the internal AOL database files have been corrupted., and needs be removed completely from your s3.
Aside from a total Phone reset..this is how I solved this on different droid devices.:
1.) Clean your AOL Email CACHE out completely,on the settings..app. menu, .. Before removing your AOL acct and settings. SHUT cel off completely and do a hard reboot.
2.) And...From your AOL.9.5 User master account, CHANGE your AOL PW from via a PC ..THEN set up your AOL acct. on your Cel phone with the new sign in PW.
Re-do the AOL acct, as per your Droid's recommended procedure. ...only on the 3/4g VZW network. .Don' t do it on a WiFi .
I try to stay FAR away from the AOL app.like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aol.mobile.aim&hl=en

This is what you can do...also
Settings > Accounts and services > Add account > (503 Service unavailable) > (instead of stopping , choose OTHER ACCOUNT or Microsoft Exchange) > Enter account info. I.E.> "blah@aol.com" and new password then accept push settings. see if it works.
MAKE SURE YOUR UPDATED YOUR PHONE to latest 4.1
