I just updated my S8+ (that was a mistake).

I'm having trouble getting some of my settings to work. For example, once I went through the update, all my icons decided to frame themselves. When I go into the display menu, the option to remove frames from icons does not work. Are there any ways to fix this? An update shouldn't leave settings unable to function.

Figured it out.

These frame issues are specific to Google Icons, because of their brilliant idea called "adaptive icons". It essentially means that Google slaps an ugly white frame behind all their icons in order to have them a similar size and shape. The Samsung frame option does not work with these apps, because the Google icon + frames are treated as the full icon.

It appears that there is nothing that can be done unless Google chooses to change this feature.
