Battery icon doesn't move when charging S4 mini

I have mainly owned LG phones, but I was recently issued a S4 Mini for work.  I am used to plugging in the phone, and then the battery icon "grows" from very small to full, and then cycles like that until the battery is fully charged.  The S4 Mini does not do this.  I thought I had plugged the phone in last night, but apparently I didn't plug it in all the way, and it never charged.  Is there a way to change the icon so it "grows" while charging?

I'm sorry your phone doesn't have the battery functionality you are use to GaryA73. You can search the google play store for apps that may help with this issue but we are unable to change the settings to allow the battery to charge the way your previous phone charged. Please keep us posted.

I had this issue with My LG G2 at first. It also popped up a message to use the charger that came with the phone, but I already was. I took the phone and the charger into a Verizon store and when they see what it was doing by testing it out they replaced my charger and now it charges as normal with the icon "growing" as it was charging. Usually if the icon is not "growing" it means it is holding it steady but not charging. I do not believe this feature is unique to LG phones.

Try the charger on a different phone and see if it still happens, if it does it is the charger that is having issues. If it works properly on a different phone it may be the charging port on the S4 Mini or some other issue that needs to be looked into. The good news is that if you take the phone and charger into a Verizon store and they see the issue themselves, they will replace the charger for you. Smiley Happy
