I never even realized this would be an issue now days. But it seems those (like myself) who use high brightness are risking images permanently burning into the screen. Really is a shame, since I never saw a warning regarding this, there is no warning on the sliding brightness scale (only warns of other things), and hadn't heard anyone discuss it.
So now I'll likely have to request a replacement from Samsung, a refurbished one that may have a history of defects, since I have clear images burned into mine.
i haven't heard of or seen screen burn in since dos days!!

my apologies, 1st i've heard of it on a smart phone.
i don't understand the one comment about the imprint of a keybaord....it should be an imprint of something that was on the screen or it's another issue!!

Mzvanni, having a phone with screen issues is a pain we don't want you to have and we are here to help you. When did the issue with the screen begin? Was your phone exposed to direct sunlight for an extended amount of time?

Screen burn-in doesn't happen from being exposed to direct sunlight.
Over time, OLED screens are prone to burn-in. Apple's warning concerning the screen on the iPhone X sparked an uptick in discussions on the subject.
My retired Samsung Galaxy S4 has burn-in along the top of the screen where the address & status bars are located. With the phone being six years old, and, seeing heavy usage during its service life, this doesn't surprise me. The ghost image isn't a distraction when using a browser.
really, i have no burn in on an my original s3 that's used on wi-fi quite a bit.
While out and about, I would crank up the brightness so I could read the display in sunny locations. That might have something to do with the ghost along the top of the screen. Still, OLED displays are prone to image burn-in.
