My 2 year old Droid did this automatically but the s3 does not. It even asks for permission when my bmw`s BT requests it and goes into a perpetual wait state saying "transferring contacts" but the s3 does not send it. Is there a fix for this coming out soon?

This has nothing to do with my obtaining a BMW compatibility kit for my
phone. Samsung has not implemented the complete Bluetooth version on the
S3. My 2 year old droid worked fine. Get your facts right before sending
out vanilla relies that are meaningless.
