Does anyone know if there is still a zoom feature on this phone? after upgrading to 4.2.2 I can't find it and still learning how to use this phone again.
or do you know where I can find how to use the new camera features?

Honestly I hadn't tried to zoom on the camera for the Nexus. Have you tried pinching with two fingers to zoom?
The stock Android user manual should be available on Google's website somewhere.
